Poor Thinking Abilities in Seniors Associated with Heart Attack, Stroke Risks: – WEDNESDAY, Aug. 5, 2015 – – Old adults scoring badly in higher-level thinking skills – – those used to reason, plan and solve complications – – will suffer a heart attack or stroke significantly, new research suggests. European scientists found that seniors with the cheapest scores of so-called executive function pondering skills were at an 85 % higher risk of heart attack and 51 % increased threat of stroke compared to those with the highest scores. The analysis indicates heart and human brain function are closely tied, said study author Dr. Behnam Sabayan, a post-doctoral research fellow at Leiden University INFIRMARY in the Netherlands. This may reflect that damage to [blood] vessels is a worldwide phenomenon in our body so when we see abnormalities in a single organ, we should take into account the other organs as well, Sabayan said.Provider income was $4.5 million, and royalties and other revenue was $1.7 million. This comes even close to first quarter 2010 product revenue of $73.4 million, which consisted of consumable revenue of $66.2 million and instrument revenue of $7.2 million. Service revenue was $4.5 million, and royalties and other revenue was $2.3 million. For the first quarter of 2011, price of product sales was $23.9 million compared to $28.5 million in the same period of 2010. Cost of services and additional was $3.2 million in comparison to $4.6 million in the same period of 2010.
